Unisexual Salamanders are an all female “species”. Since there are no males to be dads, the moms partner up with other species to reproduce. In New England they can mate with Jefferson Salamanders and Blue-Spotted salamanders, and the offspring have the DNA of these two species. Confused? So are we.
